Headed Toward Healing

We have to remember that when we feel paralyzed in our grief and feel alone, God isn't far away. Some think their pain means God is absent from them. He isn't and never will be. He is omnipresent, nearer than our breath, and His spirit is our constant companion, He lives in us. He hasn't left us to get through this intense pain alone. He is Immanuel, God with us (Hebrews 13:5-7).

• He doesn't expect us to walk through the valley of the shadow of death on our own (Psalms 23:4). He's carrying us through it. 
• He doesn't require that we have our own strength but to know that He is our strength (Habakkuk 3:19). He is supplying us with it. 
• He doesn't demand that we muster our own source of understanding but to "trust in the Lord with all our hearts" (Proverbs 3:5). He is guiding us as we go.

HABAKKUK 3:17-19

“Though the fig tree does not blossom And there is no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive fails And the fields produce no food, Though the flock is cut off from the fold And there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments.”

II COR 12: 9-10

“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].”
